Start with the trip terms

Know which payments are nonrefundable and when your exposure increases. Deposits are commonly $500–$1,000 per person, final payment is commonly due 90–120 days before departure, and cancellation penalties rise in steps after that, so exposure on a $4,000–$6,000 pilgrimage reaches its full amount in the last weeks. Compare the policy's covered reasons with those risks. Benefits described in a short sales summary may have definitions and limits that matter to your situation.

Ask the provider directly

Questions about pre-existing conditions, cancellation for any reason, evacuation, or claims should go to the licensed provider or insurer. Pre-existing condition waivers, like CFAR, are usually tied to purchasing within a set number of days of the first deposit. Obtain written answers and retain the policy documents. Do not assume an organizer's casual explanation changes the contract.

Understand the boundary

An operator's cancellation policy and an insurance policy are separate. Neither automatically replaces the other. Bold Pilgrim has not appointed or published a protection provider and does not currently sell coverage. Any future offer must identify the actual product and provider.
