The diocesan note, issued by Bishop Domenico Sorrentino before the beatification, used the word integro (whole) rather than intatto (intact), and said the body had been treated with the conservation and integration techniques usually practiced in such cases, with the facial reconstruction in a silicone mask described as particularly successful. The body is dressed in Carlo's own clothes, jeans, sneakers and a tracksuit top. The Church makes no claim of a miracle in the body's condition and the shrine does not present it as one; visitors sometimes report otherwise online, which is why the diocese spoke plainly.
The shrine's published opening hours for the tomb are 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and visits to the tomb are not possible during the 11:00 a.m. Sunday and holiday Mass. Entry is free. Groups book Mass or catechesis only through the shrine's online form; the secretariat does not take bookings by email. Carlo's heart is kept as a relic separately and has traveled for veneration.
