In Assisi the feast is kept at the Santuario della Spogliazione, where his tomb lies, with additional Masses and long lines of pilgrims. October 12 falls eight days after the feast of St. Francis on October 4, so early October is one of the busiest periods in the town and accommodation books out months ahead.
Carlo Acutis was born in London on May 3, 1991, and grew up in Milan. He is invoked as a patron of young people and, informally, of the internet, because of the website on Eucharistic miracles he built as a teenager. The shrine is open every day of the year.
