U.S. passport holders need no visa for stays under 90 days in either country. Croatia joined the Schengen area and the euro in January 2023; Bosnia and Herzegovina is outside both, although euros are widely accepted in Medjugorje. Allow time for the border crossing on transfer days.
Medjugorje · YOUR QUESTION, ANSWERED
Can I combine Medjugorje with Croatia?
Yes. Most pilgrims arrive through Croatian airports: Split is about 150 km and Dubrovnik about 140 km from Medjugorje, each 2.5 to 3 hours by road, and a coastal stay fits naturally at either end. Medjugorje itself is in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so the trip crosses a national border and needs appropriate document and transport planning.
