Walkers climb about 400 m through holm oak woods; good shoes and water are needed, and the descent takes about 40 minutes. Drivers find a small car park at the entrance. Many groups take a taxi up and walk down.

Entry is free. As published for the hermitage, it opens at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays and 7:30 a.m. at weekends, closing at 6:00 p.m. in winter and 7:00 p.m. in summer; confirm on the hermitage site before an early visit. Visitors keep silence in the small friary, the cave of St. Francis, and the woodland paths with the friars' oratories. Allow 60 to 90 minutes on site.
