Choose feast-day travel because the observance matters to you, not because you expect a quieter or easier visit. Confirm transport, meeting points, and the official program. The anniversary of the first apparition, December 9, is also marked.

The feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is December 12. Several million pilgrims arrive at the Mexico City basilica on December 11–12, making it one of the largest annual pilgrimages in the world; many walk through the night of the 11th for the midnight “Mañanitas” serenade to the Virgin. Crowds, road closures, and access arrangements differ sharply from an ordinary day, when the complex is open about 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
