For the journey, Bus Éireann's Expressway route 64 (Galway to Derry) and route 440 (Athlone to Westport) call at Ireland West Airport Knock, 20 km from the shrine, and buses stop in Knock village; the shrine does not publish a specific Dublin route number, so check buseireann.ie for the current connection, which usually changes at Athlone or Galway. The Claremorris train is the more predictable choice, about 3 hours from Heuston. By car it is 2.5 to 3 hours on the M4/M6 and N17, with parking in the North Car Park on the Ballyhaunis Road (eircode F12 X7Y3); no motorhome parking is offered.

The page on Knock as a day trip from Dublin gives a timed plan. Mass times change for the National Novena in August and at Christmas, when the shrine publishes a separate schedule.
