Cyclists use the same credential and stamps as walkers, obtained at the start and end of each stage and dated. On narrow or rocky sections, especially between Sarria and Santiago, cyclists are expected to slow down, give way, and use the parallel road where one exists.

Walking and cycling distances are not combined toward a single Compostela; the office assesses the pilgrimage by the mode used for the required minimum. Bicycle rental operates in Santiago and the main starting towns, and Correos carries luggage for cyclists on the same stages as for walkers.
